Open pollination refers to the natural pollination process where plants are allowed to freely exchange pollen with other plants of the same species. This results in a diverse gene pool and can lead to plants with a wide range of genetic traits. Unlike isolated seeds, which are kept apart to prevent cross-pollination, open pollination allows for genetic diversity and adaptation to local environmental conditions. As result there more resilient and adaptable plant varieties that may result from O/P.
